First report of Dicaelotus pumilus (Gravenhorst) (Ichneumonidae, Ichneumoninae) from Iran

The subfamily Ichneumoninae is one of the largest groups of the ichneumonids with more than 394 genera worldwide. Member of the subfamily Ichneumoninae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea) are all internal parasitoids of Lepidoptera. Thus they play important role in biological control of plant pests. Up to now, 169 species belong this subfamily have been recorded from Iran. A few investigations have been conducted on Ichneumoninae species in Khorasan Razavi and only eight species reported from this province. Dicaelotus pumilus (Gravenhorst, 1829) were collected and identified by sweeping net on alfalfa from Jovein in Sabzevar in 2013. This species distributed in Palaearctic area and is a new record for the fauna of Iran.
