Abstract:

A removing medium based on chitosan– polyaniline (CS–PANI) magnetic nanocomposite was synthesizedby chemical polymerization of aniline at the presence of chitosan magnetic nanoparticles (CS-MNPs). Inthis work, magnetic nanoparticles, the modified CS-MNPs and different types of CS– PANI magneticnanocomposites were synthesized. The efficiency of the CS– Pani magnetic nanocomposite was comparedwith the CS-MNPs and FeR3ROR4R nanoparticles for the remove of nitrate from aqueous samples. The scanningelectron microscopy images obtained from all the prepared nanocomposites revealed that the CS–PANImagnetic nanocomposite possess more porous structure. Among different synthesized magneticnanocomposites, CS–PANI magnetic nanocomposite showed a prominent efficiency. Influencingparameters on the morphology of CS–PANI magnetic nanocomposite such as weight ratio of componentswas also assayed. In addition, effects of different parameters influencing the removing efficiency of nitrate including desorption time, amount of sorbent, ionic strength, sample pH were investigated and optimized. Under the optimum condition, the removing of nitrate ions at concentration level of 100 ppm was performed using 25 mg of CS– PANI magnetic nanocomposite in the ultrasonic system. Ionic chromatography analyses of the final aqueous samples indicated that all nitrate was removing from aqueous samples. The whole procedure proved to be conveniently rapid, efficient and economical to removing nitrate from environmental and biological samples.
