Abstract:

Tetrazoles are an important member from heterocycles class with fantastic attributes. Tetrazoles as an azole heterocycle have obvious wide abilities in various research areas such as medicinal chemistry, material science, propellants, and coordination chemistry [1-3].In this work, a novel chitosan derivative, chitosan-ionic liquid complex [Chitosan-Tet-IL-Cu(II)] prepared and used as an efficient catalyst for the synthesis of arylaminotetrazoles from the [2+3] cycloaddition reaction between N-aryl cyanamide with sodium azidein DMF as solvent at 110 °C. CS-IL conjugation was prepared through the reaction of hydroxyl groups of chitosan with a novel ionicliquid made from tetrazole for first time. The catalyst was successfully characterized by using different techniques such as FT-IR,XRD, TEM, EDS and TG-DTG analyses. The TEM analysis shown size of 8-10 nm for Cu nanoparticles that complexed on thechitosan-IL structure.
