Abstract:
Copolymerization of ethylene/1-octene was carried out with various concentration of comonomer using a modified Ziegler-Natta (Avant ZN) catalyst. Structure of the copolymers was characterized using FT-IR technique. It was found that with increasing of 1-octene concentration in the feed, its content in the copolymer was increased. Moreover, the (co)polymers properties were studied with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The results show a range of crystallinity (Xc) (from 68.50 to 34.79) and melting temperature (Tm) (from 139.96 to 129.34 ̊C)which were decreased with concentration of the comonomer
