Study of the effects of differnts transplanting date on the yield of autumn tomato cultivars in compared to direct planting in Khuzestan abstract
Khuzestan province with more than 7000 hectares of tomatoes is one of the most susceptible areas of this plant in the country. In order to study the effect of transfer date on yield of autumn tomato cultivars compared to direct cultivation as a control in Khuzestan province, a split plot experiment was conducted based on randomized complete blocks design with three replications in Safi Abad Agricultural Research Center. Three transplanting dates: August 20, August 30 and September 10, and the cultivation of seeds on the 1st of August (common date) as control were main plots and five cultivars including: Kingstone, Plateau, Sadeen, Monolisa and Ronash arranged at sub plots . The evaluated traits included plant yield per unit area, number of fruits per plant, average weight of fruit, 50% flowering date, flowering date, breeding period and percentage of brix and tolerance of viral diseases. All the characteristics of the treatments were recorded in two years of the experiment and means were compared with Duncan's multiple range tests. The results showed that indicated that interactions between the dates of transplanting and direct sowing in terms of yield, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight and brix were statistical significant differences. Also, significant differences were between tomato cultivars in terms of yield, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight and percentage of brix. The results of interaction between tomato cultivars and seed and sowing dates of direct seed yield showed that there was a significant difference in yield, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight and berry. At Aug. 30 transplanting date, Falat and Sadan cultivars had the highest values. Also, among the examined cultivars, Sadan showed the least susceptibility to viral diseases. Keywords: Tomato, date of transfer, variety, yield, brix
