In order to study the effects of water salinity treatments (control, 5 and 8 dS/m) on fennel seed yield and essential oil quality and quantity, an experiment was conducted at Agricultural and Natural Resource Research Center of Isfahan during 2011- 2015. Four superior fennel genotypes (Lorestan, Hamedan, P11- 820065 and 11486) were studied in a split plot experiment based on randomized complete block design with three replicates. The number of inflorescences and umbels, seeds per umblets, seed yield, weight of 1000 seeds, plants height in 50% flowering and 100% flowering time, dry weight of plant aerial parts, plant dry weight/wet weight, days until 50% and 100% flowering, days until maturing, percentage of essential oil and essential oil yield were evaluated. Results showed that the effect of salinity was significant on all traits; however, the effect of salinity on days until 100% flowering, plant dry weight/wet weight and essential oil percentage was not significant. Effect of genotype wasn t significant on plant dry weight to wet weight. Interaction of salinityاgenotypeاyear were significant on all traits except for weight of 1000 seeds, days until 100% flowering, plant dry weight/wet weight and essential oil percentage. P11- 820065 had the highest seed yield and essential oil yield during the second year in control treatment (2359.8 and 91.5 kg/ha, respectively). The native and foreign genotypes had the maximum amount of Trans- Anethole and Estragol, respectively. A positive correlation was obtained between seed yield and eseential oil and forage yields. Based on the results, by increasing in salt stress, seed yield and seed components yield as economical fennel triats markedly decreased Key words: fennel, salinity, seed and essential oil yield
