Abstract:

Considerable areas of Golestan province rangeland are coverd by saline and alkaline soils. These areas are located in west north of Golestan province that are restricted to turkmenstan republic in north ,to Gonbad Dashlibroon road in east, to Gorgan and Gonbad farmlands in south and to Caspian sea in west . To identify of province saline zones , halophyts and plant type and to distinguish of salinity factors in natural areas, selection and introduce of desirable species emendment of saline areas , this project at saline and alkaline areas of Golestan province has performed. saline alkaline zone of province at approximately area of 165000ha are identifical by exist references and field studies.And plant type classification is accuplished by physiognomy and floristic metod.then by consideration of soil salinity and vegetation ,5 sites of Gomishan , Sangartappe , Soofykam , lnchebroon and Chaparghoymeh have selected.And data were analized by using of SPSS microsoft pakage .Results of studies show that to regard the soil salinity and high concentration of salts (EC> 30 ds/m , high water table and salinity) most of species that can grow in these area and complete their cycle life are halophyts . In the base of this studies and distributi,on mechanism of plants at saline areas, most of plants in these areas are holophyte that most of them can tolerate fluctuation of water table and high salinity of soils . Variation in two factors of salinity and water table have coused high ecological pressure at these areas. livestock grazing also can not be ignored. the results of data analyses at all sites and vey areas shmv that Halocnemum strobilacellll1 species in compare of other species has made high canopy and has constitualed dominant community at this zone. this comunis from seaside to latest areas of project regio!1 (Gonbad Dashlibroon Road )has scattered. At this zone species of puccinellia distans , Aeiliropus spp , Halocnemum strobilaceum and '" which have high value of forage production and soil conservation can be used for improvement and development.
