Abstract:
In this paper, an analytical solution for dynamic interaction of a vertically vibrated rigid foun-dation located at the interface of a finite liquid layer and a transversely isotropic half-space is presented. The method of potential functions and an integral transform approach, accompanied by a special contour integration scheme, are adopted to handle the equations of motion and produce the numerical results. With the aid of Hankel integral transforms, a relaxed treatment of the mixed-boundary value problem is formulated as dual integral equations, which can be reduced to a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. The dynamic impedance/compli-ance function are analytically and numerically evaluated in the general dynamic case. Finally, a comprehensive evaluation of dynamic impedance function for different materials with dif-ferent degrees of anisotropy is performed and have been compared with each other. The im-pedance functions have been evaluated numerically, which can be used in the dynamic fluid-soil-structure-interaction problems
