Abstract:

Children's mental health during the Covid-۱۹ pandemic has changed to an important issue for parents. Social media is one of the main reasons for the growth of children suicide rate in the Coronavirus quarantine. Moreover, this period caused a wide variety of challenges for families such as instability in financial status, raising social inequity and intensifying mental illnesses. However, children with special needs and their family members are more under the pressure of the Covid-۱۹ pandemic. While social media has its significant role. This article aims at studying roles of family poverty, mental health problems and disabilities to use social media for education and entertainment, by which communities are faced with raising the number of children suicide in the Covid-۱۹ pandemic. Research method is review- analytical in which ۱۴ articles that concentrated on the importance of children and family well-being and using social networking in children suicide, have been studied. Findings show that in the coronavirus pandemic children understood their family poverty more and more. Their mental health problems have been increased since they are forced to stay at home and using social media heightened their psychological issues and decline their well-being. As a result, increasing children vulnerability and reducing their well-being in different aspects of life are main concerns. While they would be related with having unmanageable and addictive behavior to use social media that have soared children suicide rate.
