Abstract:

In this study, Xanthan / poly (acrylic acid) / Cloisite ۱۵A hydrogel nanocomposites were developed using radical polymerization for the removal of Cu(ll) from aqueous solutions. The crosslinker and initiator, respectively, were acrylic-urethane (MS) and potassium persulphate (KPS). The prepared adsorbent was verified and characterized using infrared spectra (FTIR), UV-Vis, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The impact of contact time and swelling ratio were evaluated. The Kinetics were found to fit Pseudo-second-order the best.
