Abstract:

To develop polymer electrolyte membranes from sulfonated poly (phthalazinone ether ketone) (SPPEK), a novel polymer membrane consists of SPPEK and SBA-Ph-SO۳H mesoporous silica (phenyl sulfonic acid grafted SBA-۱۵) were prepared by solution casting method. The prepared membranes displayed a high proton conductivity of ۱۱۰ mS/cm at ۸۰ °C. According to the PEM fuel cell results, a high current density of ۰.۸۱ Acm-۲ at ۰.۵ V, ۸۰ °C and ۹۰% RH, the prepared membranes have a high potential for using as an appropriate membrane in the fuel cells.
