Abstract:
Countless factors have a significant impact on teachers' psychological and professional health and success; they alter their well-being, effectiveness, and performance in the classroom and workplace, and thus the quality of teaching. Resilience is a factor that helps teachers to teach and feel well. Therefore, knowing the crucial factors that promote resilience in teachers is of utmost importance from psychological and social perspectives. Therefore, the present study sheds light on resilience as a factor that fundamentally influences EFL teachers, improves their wellbeing at work, and helps them cope with the challenges they often encounter in the classroom and work environment. To this end, this study provides various definitions of teacher resilience from different perspectives. It also focuses on the important role of resilience in teachers and the steps taken to improve it in teachers. Later, the benefits of resilience training among teachers are discussed. Finally, the results of previous studies on these topics are reported. The findings of the current study lead to a better understanding of teacher resilience, help teachers understand the role of resilience, and add additional information to the existing literature on teacher resilience. The findings also have some implications for those interested in educational, psychological, and teacher-related issues.
