Abstract:
Nitrate removal by chlorella sp. under different illumination conditions was evaluated in this study. White and modified white light by R۶G at intensity of ۳۰۰ µmol m-۲s-۱ were considered as light sources. The results corroborate the fact that spectral shifting by using R۶G solution caused about ۲-fold increase of biomass production. Additionally, it performed ۱۰۰% efficiency in N removal in only two days which was the shortest processing time compared to other cultures. The advantage of R۶G employment as a light shifter revealed its effectiveness over white light.
