Target Detection via Quantum Illumination: Maximum Range Equation abstract
In this article, the basic principle of target detectionbased on Gaussian state quantum illumination (QI) hasintroduced. The performance of such system has compared withits classical counterpart, which employs the most classical stateof light, i.e., coherent state, to illuminate the target region. Byderiving the maximum range equation, we have demonstratedthat the quantum illumination based target detection system isespecially advantageous at low transmission powers, whichmake these systems suitable for short range applications likebiomedical imaging or covert detection schemes.
