The effect of storytelling on the creativity of students (Case study: Marvdasht city) abstract
This study aimed to explain the effect of storytelling on the creativity of male third-grade elementary school students. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The statistical population included all male third-grade elementary school students of Marvdasht city in the academic year of 2013-2014. 30 students were selected in two groups (experimental group and control one) by multi-stage cluster sampling. The experimental group was affected by the independent variable (storytelling) for 10 sessions and control group did not receive any intervention. The instrument of measuring and collecting information in the present study is the Visual Creativity Test (Form B) of Torrance (1974). To analyze data, average and standard deviation were used in descriptive statistics and covariance and differential T-test were used in inferential statistics. The results showed that storytelling increased creativity and its dimensions (fluidity, flexibility, initiative, expansion) in male third-grade elementary students.
