Structural Model of the Family Function with Cognitive Vulnerability: Mediating Role of Emotion Regulation in Wide Spread of Covid-۱۹

Conflict between parents and young children is one of the most challenging issues encountered by families with greater number of children for which a number of underlyingreasons can be listed. Current research is aimed at creating a structural model pertinent to the family function with cognitive vulnerability. The secondary aim is investigating mediating role of emotion regulation in wide spread of Covid-۱۹. With regard to research purpose and descriptive method used, the current research can be classified as applied and correlation research respectively. Research population included all students who ranged in age from ۱۵ to ۱۸ and were living in Lorestan, Iran during the academic year ۲۰۱۹-۲۰۲۰.Research sample consisted of ۴۰۰ high school students in aforementioned province in Iran. They were sampled using multi-stage clustering sampling. They filled out family dynamic environment Scale (Kim et all, ۲۰۰۷), Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (Grates et all, ۲۰۰۴) , and Cognitive Vulnerability Short Survey (Derogoites et all , ۲۰۰۴). Having collected the research data , the research embarked on analyzing the obtained data using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS, ۲۶), and Amos-۲۱ softwares .In addition, Pearson Product Correlation and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)were used for analytical purposes. The intended model was fit. The results of analyses indicated that family dynamic environment can account for ۲۲ % of difficulties in emotional regulation. In addition, family dynamic environments and difficulties in emotion regulation can account for only ۳۸ % of variance in cognitive vulnerability. At last but not the least, the relationship between external variables with moderating variable was indirect rather than direct one which can be created by the affect caused by difficulties in emotion regulation on emotional vulnerability. Giventhe approved structural model, one can gain pathological insight on relationship between parents and children. Accordingly, cognitive vulnerability can be prevented by carrying out multi-dimensional based interventions.
