Abstract:
Microstructural evolution of plain carbon steel (0.15% C) contains of 0.1 %wt Ti during Martensite process was investigated. In order to achieve martensitic structure, samples was held at 950 ºC for 60 min to obtain austenite microstructure and then quenched. The brittleness of Martensitic structure in quenched samples was reduced by ageing them at 200 ºC for 30 minutes. Aged samples were cold-rolled 60% reduction in thickness and then annealed at 400–630 °C for 5 to 120 min. The microstructure obtained via this process was fully annealed ultrafine grains of ferrite including tempered martensite.
