Social Control, Anomie and Young People Pathology

This research tries to show that social control and anomie are effective factors in the young people pathology. It assumes that the social control is a deterrent of social deviance and when it is weakened, there is no force that restrains the individual's desires and prevents the individuals from social deviance and crime. Instead, anomie is a factor which weakens the force that leads people to conform to the behavioral patterns and social norms of society. A survey of a representative random sample of ۲۶۰ young people (۱۸ to ۳۰ years old) living in Ilam city and the young criminals (prisoners) confirms the above hypotheses. The results of the survey showed that there is a significant inverse relationship between social deviance and social control. Also, there is a significant inverse relationship between the probability of criminality and social control. On the other hand, there is a significant direct relationship between social deviance and anomie. Also, there is a significant direct relationship between the probability of criminality and anomie
