Risk analysis of dental orthodontic and its hazards by FMEA method

Non-verbal communication is the most immediate and significant method of expression. Humans usually express their emotions consciously or unconsciously through non-verbal channels including facial expressions and gestures. Obviously, a smiling face is much more attractive than a non-smiling and wrinkled face. Due to the dominant role of the smile in everyday life, there is an increasing demand for medical and dental treatments that improve the smile and facial appearance, including orthodontic treatment. Orthodontic treatment carries many different risks. The dentist must be aware of these risks in order to help the patient make a fully informed choice to continue with orthodontic treatment. This article describes the potential risks and provides solutions for the most important ones. In this research, the FMEA error mode analysis method was used to investigate and analyze dental orthodontic risks. The obtained results can lead to more appropriate guidance of the medical team and better treatment of the patient
