Examining the Role of Managers of Government Organizations in the Development of Public Sports

Abstract Purpose: The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the role of managers of government organizations in the development of public sports in Khorasan Razavi province. Methodology: This research is descriptive and analytical. The sampling method of this research was done through the total number; The statistical population of the research was formed by the chiefs and senior managers of the General Directorate of Sports and Youth of Khorasan Razavi Province. The data collection tool of this research was a researcher-made questionnaire, the validity of which was confirmed by experts and sports experts, and the reliability of the questionnaire was confirmed with Cronbach s alpha of ۰.۸۸. Also, the other part of the data collection of this research was conducted in the field and using in-depth interviews with the heads and senior managers of the General Directorate of Sports and Youth of Khorasan Razavi province. Findings: The findings of the current research indicated that among the roles of the managers of government organizations (General Sports and Youth Department of Khorasan Razavi Province), respectively, the roles of budgeting, determining and allocating sufficient funds for the development of public sports in the cities, the decision The correct approach in the development of public sports, organization, cooperation and communication with other private and government organizations of all cities and the role of periodic monitoring and evaluation of the compiled programs in the development of public sports in the province are the most effective among the roles of managers of government organizations. Conclusion: Today, considering the importance of sports and physical activity among all people and the role of public sports in reducing many diseases and minimizing some social crimes, the role of provincial and city sports managers in the development of public sports is very important. It becomes important that according to this research, allocation of sufficient funds, correct decisions, multilateral cooperation and systematic monitoring and evaluation have the greatest impact among other roles of managers of government organizations in the development of public sports and can be a great help to increase per capita and the development of public sports in Razavi Khorasan province.
