Abstract:

Currently, the electricity markets employ a deterministic method of energy and reserve dispatch. With the increasing use of stochastic and non-dispatchable production, such as wind energy, the system operator's output capacity is uncertain. This makes it difficult for the system operator to maintain control over them. As a case study, we will examine a modified variation of the two-node system. This research will concentrate on day-ahead and ۲۴-hour market clearance equilibrium. The system will include three thermal units with day-ahead reserve and balancing reserve, two wind units with uncertain power output, two load nodes, and one pumped hydro storage with upper and lower reservoir water level constraints. In this instance, we will consider the uncertainty regarding the output of the two wind turbines as an uncertainty budget. Finally, we will use the GAMS software with the CPLEX solver to tackle this optimization problem.
