Abstract:
This article seeks to compare women and men feeling of social security and test the general hypothesis that women social security feeling is less than men. This assumption is based on the approach of vulnerability and feminist views that believe women are vulnerable in society and necessarily feel more insecure than men. The empirical test of this general hypothesis has been carried out in the form of three hypotheses of women security feeling being less in the three important dimensions of physical security, intellectual security and economic security by surveying a representative sample of young Tehran citizens. The findings of this research show that women security feeling is less than men security feeling only in dimension of physical security. But, there is no significant difference between women and men feeling of intellectual security, and women economic security feeling is not much different from men, and even is a little more.
