Investigating falling out of bed in hospitalized patients with covid-۱۹ and its related factors

Introduction: Patients falling out of bed is considered a major health problem for hospitalized patients, which affects patients mentally and physically, and Covid-۱۹, a common infectious disease that the World Health Organization has described as a global pandemic. It caused the hospitalization of a number of patients, and falling from the bed in these patients increases the cost of treatment and the duration of hospitalization.In the present study, it was conducted with the aim of investigating the types of falls in this group of patients in the hospitals accepting Covid-۱۹ in Kermanshah province.Materials and methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, the rate of falling from the bed and factors related to it was done by reviewing the files (۲۰۰ patients) and the data was collected through a questionnaire of demographic information and characteristics of the fall and the analysis was done with spss۲۴. Findings: The results of this research showed that more falls occurred in women and the age group above ۶۵, and the highest rate of falls occurred at night and most of the patients were under O۲ therapy and oxygen therapy with NIV, they received covid treatment drugs, and as a result of falls, accidents such as scratches Fractures, hematomas, and contusions have occurred, and patients have experienced more stress. Conclusion: Due to the high incidence of patient falls, it is necessary to increase the care of patients, especially during the emergence of emerging diseases such as Covid-۱۹, and to provide educational workshops for preventing falls, identifying high-risk patients, and providing safe care for patients.
