Abstract:
Heat pipe heat exchangers (HPHXs) are playing a considerable role in different fields including air conditioning systems. We applied such an air conditioning system for treating hot and humid air with the use of HPHXs in series which were charged with methanol and ethanol as working fluids. In this research, experiments were carried out for 2, 3, 4 and 5 rows and two defined conditions of inlet air. energy saving values were calculated and compared in order to obtain the optimum number of heat pipe rows and best working fluid. Results showed that in both defined conditions, 3-row HPHX and methanol had the best performance
