Abstract:
We are all aware of the problem the world faces with energy today. In the present time, the world relies on the fossil fuel economy for energy. We know bipolar plate has main role in fuelcell because it conducts Inlets near the catalyst and electricity as main outlet toward convertor. In this section bipolar plates are manufactured by different metallic substances, stainless steel316 without coating and steel with Cu and Graphite coating. In this research we provide sameconditions for comparison these bipolar plates for Polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells were tested in single cell tests. Current–voltage curves, lifetime curves and thecontamination with metal ions were measured. Additionally the surface of the plates was analyzed by several methods
