Improving and modifying the properties of bitumen by using different additives and introducing new and effective additives

The performance properties of bitumen can be improved by using several modifiers. In thisresearch, the separate role of Styrene butadiene styrene, Bentonite, Elastobit, Styrene ButadieneRubber, Uintahite, Rubber powder, Solid oil, modified sulphur, BS۱ and BS۲ in improving theperformance of bitumen has been discussed. Each of these materials has the ability to improvedifferent binder properties. The evaluation of the samples was done with tests of Softening Point,Degree of Penetration and in some cases Ductility, as a result of which it was found that additivesSBS and BS۱, BS۲ bring favorable results by increasing the controlled softening point.
