Investigating the geotechnical properties of fine-grained soil in the south of Tehran abstract
Having geotechnical information about the project site has always been the focus of researchers and engineers. According to geological conditions and structures, the soil of each region has specific characteristics and usually has a certain range, and having general information about this is important in engineering projects. This study reviewed the result of more than 51 reports of geotechnical investigation reports of projects completed in the southern Tehran province and evaluated parameters like Atterberg limits, soil classification, standard penetration, results from direct shear tests, and results from unconfined uniaxial and triaxial tests to determine the range of changes of these parameters. The findings show that clay soil with low plasticity makes up roughly 76% of the soil in this location. The information offered in this study can be utilized to make preliminary estimates of geotechnical characteristics in projects in this area, as well as to make geotechnical studies more efficient and accurate in future projects in this area.
