Abstract:

Background and purpose: In recent years, four management theories including organizational excellence, comprehensive quality management, empowerment and organizational culture have been proposed in the management profession, each of which has a fundamental and practical role in the midwifery profession. In this research, it has been tried to determine the similarities and correlations between the two professions of midwifery and management by applying modern management theories in midwifery services. The purpose of studying the applications of modern management theory in midwifery services.Methodology: The current research was conducted as a review. The key words of midwifery services, comprehensive quality management, organizational excellence, empowerment, culture building were used between ۲۰۰۵ and ۲۰۲۳. To select the used documents, the titles found by the search engine were first checked in terms of thematic relevance. In the next step, it was evaluated in terms of relationship with the target. Finally, after removing duplicates, ۳۱ studies were completely studied.Results: With the mutual understanding of midwifery and management staff, the only prediction with certainty in the future is that the staff of both professions will face many challenges together in the medical health service system to change the organizational culture structure from unchangeable to changeable. had, but together with each other they will remain at the center of providing health care.Conclusions: Comparing the similarities of midwifery service management with modern management theories makes it possible to create collaboration and coordination between managers and midwives and provide the desired services to the interested groups effectively.
