Abstract:

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationshipbetween EFL learners' self-regulation (SR) and willingness tocommunicate (WTC). To this end, ۵۲۰ male and female EFL learners,ranging between ۱۹ and ۳۴ years old (Medium age = ۲۲), majoring inEnglish Translation, English Language Teaching and English Literature atIslamic Azad University, Fars Province, were randomly selected. Theywere given two questionnaires: Self-Regulation Questionnaire devised byBrown, Miller, and Lawendowski (۱۹۹۹) and Willingness toCommunicate Scale devised by McCroskey and Baer. In this study SR isoperationally defined as the scores candidates obtained on the Englishversion of the Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SRQ) Scale. It wasdeveloped by Brown, Miller, and Lawendowsk.
