Abstract:

Autism spectrum disorder refers to a wide range of disorders, developmental and neurological. Children with autism spectrum disorder have to take care in their lives on average, and this person is usually the child's mother; therefore, when the demand for environmental stressors exceeds individual resources, coping strategies are used to restore performance, if coping strategies fail to meet the demands is the result of stress, higher levels of stress also predict lower quality of life. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of emotional self-regulation on coping strategies of mothers of children with autism. The method of this study was semi-experimental and based on pretest-posttest design with control group. The statistical population included all mothers of autistic children in Sara rehabilitation center in Tabriz, which were selected by voluntary sampling method, ۱۵ in the experimental group and ۱۵ in the control group. The Lazarus-Folkman Coping Strategies Questionnaire (CSQ) was ۸ sessions of emotion self-regulation training ،used to collect data. For the experimental group then after ،the control group did not receive any intervention ،were held weekly for ۴۵ minutes both groups were re-tested to evaluate the effectiveness of ،completing the training sessions emotion self-regulation. Data were analyzed using repeated measures analysis of variance inSPSS software version ۲۲.
