Modeling and Performance Prediction of a Combined Axial-RadialCompressor of a Gas Turbine Engine abstract
Axial and radial compressors are used in many industries, like power generation, transportation, etc. 1D or mean line modeling and performance prediction of these important machines are of the main steps in the design procedure. In this research 1D modeling and performance prediction of a combined axial and radial compressor is carried out. A general method is proposed for the mean line modeling of this compressor. To validate the modeling results, they are compared with experimental data of the operating baseline gas turbine engine and there is a good agreement with maximum 4% difference.
