Occurrence of enterotoxins genes of Staphylococcus aureusisolated from food samples in Iraq abstract
Objectives:This study aims to determination of the prevalence and presence of genesencoding Staphylococcal enterotoxins (sea, seb, sec, sed and see) in S. aureusisolates that isolated from food specimens in Iraq using multiplex PCR technique. Methods:From September 2017 to December 2017, forty three samples of food werecollected from different sources. Multiplex PCR assay was carried out to detectionof enterotoxins genes in S. aureus isolates which diagnosed by conventionalbacteriological methods, and confirmed these genes by sequencing technique. Results:Nineteen isolates of S. aureus were obtained from out of forty three foodsamples, the results of antibiotics susceptibility were showed multidrug resistantand with high β-lactam resistant. Results for the five enterotoxins genes weresea(36.48%), seb(31.57%), sec (5.26%), sed (0%) and see (10.52%). All oursequenced genes (sea, seb, sec, sed, see) with related PCR product showed thesame DNA sequences. Conclusion:The most frequently of enterotoxins genes were sea and seb genes and cheesesamples are the most type of foodstuff have enterotoxigenic S. aureus isolates, whilesedgene was missing in food S. aureus isolates.
