Encapsulation of probiotics and nutraceuticals: Applications in functional food industry abstract
The current applicability of functional foods in individual health and well-being has led to an increased interest indeveloping new types of oral administration systems for probiotics and nutraceuticals. Encapsulation may give protectionand sustained delivery in food forming. The recent conversations about probiotics encapsulation for operation in bothnutraceutical and food sectors are addressed. The subjects approached include encapsulation systems, nutraceuticals andprobiotics generalities and marketplace current request situation, microbial microencapsulation, and food application forbeyond their use in the pharmaceutical industry. Studies assaying the viability and stability of encapsulated probioticsapplied in food matrices are presented as well. This review sought to present the most recent debate regarding the nano/microencapsulation of nutraceuticals and probiotics process for operation in food products. Although numerousprotocols visible in the scientific literature aren't applicable for industrial operations, some formulation can be employedin food systems. In addition, in vivo individual studies are extremely necessary to prove the effectiveness of similarformulations.
