Vibration analysis of a single shaft centrifugal compressor with its supports abstract
In this paper, vibration analysis of a newly designed single shaft centrifugal compressor is performed using finite element method. First of all, a modal analysis of the compressor casing is done by creating a cyclic model. Moreover, the vibration analysis of support is also performed. The support stiffness is also calculated for the rotordynamic analysis of the rotor. The reduced order model of the rotor is extracted. Vibration characteristic and the unbalance response analyses of the rotor based on API 617 standard are finally obtained and plotted.
