Abstract:

It has become commonplace to believe that there are not adequate and also acceptable ways in assessment of Translation. This paper attempts to examine three ways in assessing translation in order to show the line of thought that goes from conventional to functional and then to plan-based assessment. The present paper has focused its attention especially on a well-known controversy between these three strategies for translation assessment, and then the researcher will present the result of a controlled empirical design. Finally, this study draws some conclusions wether plan-based assessment can be practical in real life situation or not.
