Quality of life of people in urban area is the outcome of people interaction with the urban environment. Urban open spaces are vital part of urban landscape with its own specific set of function. Besides many environmental and ecological services, urban nature provides important social and psychological benefits to human societies, which enrich human life with meaning and emotions. The main concern of this paper is to address the importance of urban nature for citizen‘s livability and for the sustainability of the city they inhabit. The research method was descriptive and the information was gathered through searching articles and related books. The result is a framework for understanding the relationship between the quality of an urban environment and sense of livability among the citizens. Top physical form criteria are, a walkable community, outdoor amenities, lots of seating, barrier free and open space area in residential areas
