Abstract:

Dynamical flight motion simulators are one of the most important machines in studying flight motion in real world. They are used in experiments on gyro sensors, flight problems in airplanes, pilot training, and space craft navigation studies. The three rotational motions are the most important degrees of freedom for a flying object and accordingly, the three-axis turn tables are one of the most useful flight motion simulators. In this work, the dynamical analysis of a general three-axis turn table is accomplished and the equations of motion for the system are derived using the Kane method. To control the turn table as desired, the Lyapunov method is used and an appropriate control law is suggested for a Hard Ware in the Loop (HWIL) system. In addition, the unmodeled dynamics are considered and the tolerances for the system design are achieved.
