Abstract:
The present study investigates free vibration of rectangular single-layered graphene sheets (SLGSs) based on nonlocal elasticity theory. SLGSs are considered as nanoplates. The small scale effect is taken into consideration by applying the nonlocal theory proposed by Eringen. The Finite Strip Method (FSM) according to Classical Plate Theory (CPT) is then utilized to calculate natural frequencies of nanoplates with different boundary conditions. A matrix eigenvalue problem is solved to obtain natural frequencies.
