The study of aesthetics of light and sash windows in traditional homes of Tabriz in Qajar era(Case study: Behnam house)

Historical houses of Tabriz are unique due to the privileged position of this city in the Qajar era regarding number and documenting historical events. Transformation of Tabriz to the capital city during the prince-hood (Abass Mirza) is the main reason of frequency and abundance of historical houses in this city . Behnam house is the legacy of Qajar era. This house has special layout due to delicate architecture, windows and high balconies. This building has internal and external part and in the middle part, the south façade of seven-door sash is located. This paper studies the sash windows and its history and amount of natural light in Behnam house and the relationship between space and light in the architecture of Qajar house. This papers deals with the topic using library method, observation, field study and review of literature.
