Application of Electrical Engineering in Tertiary Recovery of a Simple Black Oil Model as an Oil Reservoir; A Simulation Approach abstract
Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) is a generic term for techniques increasing the amount of crude oil that can be extracted from an oil field. In heavy oil reservoirs, because of high viscosity, low efficiency and also high cost of conventional methods, thermal methods are preferred. Electrical heating is the most effective method among thermal methods. This work presents the development of a numerical model designed to simulate EOR by in-situ electric heating by using CMG. The paper includes the results of simulation of a simple black oil model and also compare to when electrical heating is done.
