An Automotive Cruise Control Using Fuzzy Control Optimized via Extended Kalman Filter abstract

In this paper, The objective is to generateand optimize the fuzzy membership functions for anautomotive cruise control in order to obtain a betterand faster response facing with the changes in thedriving conditions. The regular method foroptimization is gradient descent, but in this paper, weuse the extended Kalman filter (EKF) in a specialmanner to optimize the membership functions andalso modify the membership function. We will showthat the EKF is a powerful method for increasing theperformance of a fuzzy system.
