Abstract:
Organic-inorganic adhesion- promoter polymers based on silane compounds used a primer to improve corrosion resistance. In this study the effects of silane concentration in solution, pretreatment method, pH of silane solution and drying condition on the properties of silane layer was investigated. The corrosion resistance was measured using EIS. SEM was employed for characterization the surface morphology and coating thickness. The contact angle and surface tension of silane layer has been measured to investigate surface properties. Consequently, pH of solution and drying temperature were the most significant factors. Corrosion resistance was improved as a consequence of decreasing pH and increasing drying temperature.
