Application of ISO 9000 in Construction Management

Project Quality Management includes the processes required to ensure that the project will satisfy the needs for which it was undertaken. It includes all activities of the overall management function that determine the quality policy, objectives, and responsibilities and implements them by means such as quality planning, quality control, quality assurance, and quality improvement, within the quality system. Using quality management standards is proved to be very effective for achieving the quality needed for the project. In this essay we are going to describe a thorough definition of ISO 9000 standard that is developed by the ISO for quality management, and we are also going to survey the use of ISO 9000 standard in particularly construction projects. In the end we are going to present a case-study of this ISO implementation in an ongoing construction project
