Abstract:

Background: The aim of this study is the investigation of the motives and factors affecting the attendance of Gymnastic spectators.Materials and Methods: This study is a descriptive- analytic one and it has been done by means of a fieldwork. For determining motivations and factors affecting the attendance, the spectators of Tehran Oil club were surveyed. A questionnaire with 27 questions of the motives and factors affecting the attendance of Gymnastic spectators was used for gatheringdata. Consists of 9 part named team, player, drama, vicarious achievement, excitement,costumer services, entertainment, escape and knowledge. The degree of reliability of the questionnaire used in this study was calculated 0.756. For data analysis, using Spearman correlation and multiple regression analysis, SPSS19 software. Results and Discussions: The results of this study showed that 47.2% of spectators werein range of19-24 years old.71.8 of spectators were single.38.4 of them had high schooleducation.35% of them had 1-3 attendance each year. 31.1% had 200-350 thousands tomans income each month. The mean of motives was: player 4.6, excitement 4.5, knowledge 4.4, vicarious achievement 4.3, drama 3.8, escape 3.6, costumer services 3.2, entertainment 3, andteam 1.7. Investigating relationship between motives and attendance showed that attendance had significant relationship with team, drama, excitement, costumer services, entertainment, escape and knowledge but attendance had no significant relationship with player and vicarious achievement. Conclusion: Investigating the affects of all motives on attendance with multi regression showed that costumer services, excitement, team, players, knowledge, drama had effect on attendance. Independent variables explained 12.8% of variance in attendance.
