Abstract:

Some possible substitutes for microbial growth and biosurfactant production include urban wastes, and agro-industrial by-products. The ability of a bacterial isolate from Khuzestan oil reservoir to grow and produce biosurfactant on cane molasses under shaking incubator conditions at 45°C was studied. When the inoculum size at 5% (v/v), the surface tension of the medium was lowered to 28.3 mN/m. In this case, the amount of produced biomass and residual sugar are equal to 0.447 g/l and 13.6 µg/ml, respectively.
