Abstract:
Today, value engineering in economic literature and in power distribution companies, is a well-known name. Reduction of feeders loading, improve voltage profile, load balancing and power supply by distributed generation units are the subject of many plans and projects in distribution networks that funding them are usually for supplying new applicants (increase income), loss reduction (reducing costs) and energy generation (reduce purchasing power from the upstream network). This paper evaluates different ways to reduce load of medium voltage feeders in distribution networks, as a case study feeder No. 853 with a peak load of 220A in Arak city in Iran is chosen. For this purpose 6 different plans include load balancing with adjacent feeders, the construction of a new 63/20kV station, the construction of new 20KV feeder from existing 63/20KV stations and the construction of 3 types of power-generating units with gas, wind and solar power plants have been presented and analyzed. Turnover of each plan in terms of expenses and revenues and with value engineering Criteria (initial investment, operation, residual value of equipment, subscription charges, loss reduction, reduction of greenhouse gases emission, fuel consumption reduction in centralized power plants, empty upstream network capacity and reduction of transmission network installation) has been evaluated and compared by equivalent annual value. Technical simulation are done using MATLAB and with TENG load flow algorithm.
