Abstract:

In the modern world and with the shifts in the classic powers and formation of a new competitive environment, the concept of strategies has become of considerable interest and has been addressed from various aspects. However, the relationship between competitive strategies and the role of dominant paradigm in the development of competitive strategies is often less discussed. This paper attempts to show that effective strategies are a product of proper understanding of dominant paradigms, because strategies are incapable of creating competitive value for organizations unless they can define themselves based on the dominant paradigms. This will happen when paradigm principles are correctly identified. In this paper, desk research and content analysis were used to discuss four key paradigms including the functionalist paradigm, radical stracturalist paradigm, interpretive paradigm, and postmodern paradigm and define their principles and determine their relationship with competitive strategies.
