Abstract:

To date, information technology has undoubtedly delivered many benefits and accomplishments. In spite of the fruitful tree of information technology, many threats and concerns are emerging due tounethical decision makings. Most information technology professionals are worried about consequencesof unethical actions. The domain of business intelligence, as a technology-driven process to analyze data, is highly prone to unethical threats since it directly works with data. Meanwhile, scenario analysis is a prevalent tool to conduct ethical research studies. But, there have been few attempts to generate validscenarios to be applied in business intelligence research studies. The purpose of this research is to develop and validate typical business intelligence ethical scenarios to serve other scholars with a set of valid scenarios. As a result, five scenarios are presented and they were validated by a sample of 198 information technology students.
