Abstract:

The mysterious characteristics of Garshaspnama (The epic of Garshāsp) can be related to the complexity of human unconscious mind. Accordingly, the structure of mysterious stories of Asadi Tusi in Garshaspnama (The epic of Garshāsp) is contrasted with collective unconscious concept of Jung in analytical psychology, where the similarity of orderly structure of Garshaspnama (The epic of Garshāsp) stories with the collective unconscious of man is found, where in fact through studying the stories of this collection, the reader travels into his/her psyche for a better recognition of himself, and to achieve the process of individuality. In order to make clear this, a poem named as River Feature is chosen from Asadi’s collection. A close look at its structural and content characteristics indicate that the marvelous stories of this work reflect the mystery of human’s psyche, represented as the collective unconscious by Jung.
