Three-Dimensional Elasticity Solution for Vibration Problem of Thick Plate Strip under Moving Loads abstract

The dynamic response of an arbitrarily thick, isotropic, simply supported plate strip under an arbitrarily distributed transverse moving line load is treated within the framework of three-dimensional elasticity theory. The classical method of separation of variables is used to solve the wave equation through harmonic decomposition of dilatational and distortional wave components and the solution of the problem is derived by using Fourier transformation with respect to a moving reference frame. Limiting cases are considered and good agreements with the solutions available in the literature are obtained.
